Hail the Sun Opens Cut. Tour. Fade. Back. Part Two in San Luis Obispo

On September 8, Hail the Sun launched their Cut. Tour. Fade. Back. Part Two tour in San Luis Obispo, celebrating their album with an enthusiastic crowd. The energy was palpable, especially during standout performances like “Made Your Mark.”

On September 8, Hail the Sun kicked off their Cut. Tour. Fade. Back. Part Two tour in San Luis Obispo, California. Wanting to start the tour somewhere different, the band chose San Luis Obispo for their first-ever show in the city.

I made the drive from Los Angeles for the show, making this my fourth time seeing Hail the Sun and my second time photographing the group. Every time I see them, something new stands out, and this show was no different.

Cut. Turn. Fade. Back., their most recent album, is now nearly a year old, and this tour gives the band another chance to celebrate the record with fans. Hearing the songs live again, especially in a city where they had never performed before, made the night feel even more special.

Hail the Sun has built a dedicated fan base over the years, and you could hear it throughout the night. The crowd sang along to song after song, creating moments when the audience could almost be heard as loudly as the band.

One of the biggest highlights for me was hearing “Made Your Mark,” one of my favorite songs by the band. Hearing the crowd sing along immediately stood out, and photographing that connection made the moment even better.

San Luis Obispo may have been a new stop for Hail the Sun, but the crowd showed up ready to make the most of their first night together. The energy in the room made for a great way to start the tour.

If Hail the Sun is coming to your city, grab a ticket for a memorable night. After seeing them four times, I can confidently say they know how to put on a show.

They definitely made their mark.
